Main Hall

Since opening, we have hosted everything from famous 60s and 70s rock bands, to our regular local pantomimes, touring theatre, music and many other community events.

Investment from Ryedale District Council in 2021 has allowed us to install state of the art theatre sound and lighting, upgrade our toilet facilities, and ensure the building is disabled-friendly.

It is a lovely space, with high ceilings, echoing the elegance of a bygone age, and boasting the largest sprung wooden dance floor in the North of England.

Arranged in theatre style we can accommodate almost 300 people, or if you are looking for ‘cafe-style’ round tables, we can easily accommodate almost 150 people.

A fully equipped and cosy Studio Bar is adjacent to the main hall and can be hired as part of the package if required. We also have a simple kitchen with food preparation facilities accessible through the Studio Bar.

All Hires are subject to the satisfactory completion of a Booking Form and agreement to the The Terms and Conditions for Hirers published by The Milton Rooms. Equipment use and other services to be negotiated as required. Any hire which precludes the use of The Milton Rooms for any part of the same or any other day to be negotiated as required. Charities or not-for-profit organisations may apply for a discount for non-commercial events.
