Since it was built in the 1800s, The Milton Rooms has been an active hub for arts and community events and activity in Ryedale.

In one unique location we can offer three very different styles of venue.

Main Hall

The main hall is used regularly for major touring theatre companies, music events and significant community events, including an annual beer festival.

It is a lovely space, with high ceilings and echoing the elegance of a bygone age, and we boast the largest sprung wooden dance floor in the North of England.

Arranged in theatre style we can seat 300 people, or 250 with standing and a dance floor. If you are looking for tables, we can easily accommodate 150 people cabaret-style.

Assembly Room

A light and elegant space with high ceilings, restored wooden floor and Georgian period windows and mouldings, it is ideal for weddings, but has been used in the past for fashion sales and large scale meetings.

The Assembly Rooms can accommodate up to 80 people.

Studio Bar

Our Studio Bar can be hired independently of the main hall and provides a cosy atmosphere, ideal for music or spoken word events. It has state-of-the-art sound and lighting, installed recently, and a fully stocked bar.

The Studio Bar can accommodate up to 30 people.
