Ryedale Blues Club – Emma Wilson Band

Proudly from the North East of England, Emma’s mother promoted jazz bands and her father was a charismatic raconteur. Emma was destined to perform in some way.  She possesses a fabulous voice and uses it skilfully to move effortlessly between heart-wrenching sweet soul licks and raw, real, powerful blues.

Emma’s tender vocals and gorgeous tone lend themselves beautifully to recordings with shades of early Aretha Franklin and hints of another of Emma’s all time favourites, Ann Peebles. Live Emma Wilson concerts are vibrant and visceral, delivered with true passion.

Emma’s incredible vocal talent and songwriting were brought to the attention of an international audience with the 2022 release of her ten-track debut album ‘Wish Her Well’, winning the title of ‘Emerging Blues Artist of the Year’ at the UK Blues Awards in 2022. She describes the title track, which to date has reached hundreds of thousands of streams and plays worldwide, as her ‘little hero’ song.
