New York Brass Band

Acorn Events presents the New York Brass Band supported by The Ryedale Stray Notes. The proceeds from the event goes to Acorn Community Care, a local charity dedicated to supporting vulnerable adults with physical and learning disabilities.

NYBB are a New Orleans-inspired brass band and have played all over the world.  They have played at Glastonbury for the past eight years and celebrity parties and weddings for Danny Jones of McFly, Pixie Lot, Ellie Goulding, comedian Alex Brooker, Liam Gallagher, Joe Jordan, Gordon McQueen and Jamie Oliver.

The band is a powerhouse 7/8-piece, with a line-up of percussion, sax, trumpets, trombones, guitar and sousaphone. Hailing from York, the band was formed by James Lancaster in 2010 and they are at the forefront of a funky brass revolution that is sweeping the UK. Inspired by Rebirth Brass Band, Soul Rebels, Hot 8, Youngblood and Brassroots, NYBB pack a powerful punch of relentless drums, rumbling tuba and wailing horns.
