Ryedale Blues Club – The Mark Pontin Group

Since releasing his debut album, ‘Days of Destiny’ in 2013, Mark Pontin has firmly established himself in the UK Blues/Rock scene as an artist to take notice of.

A multiple blues award nominee and stalwart guitar player and vocalist, Mark is a man of many talents.

His debut album ‘Days Of Destiny’ caused quite a stir, with five nominations in the British Blues Awards and finalists in the ‘Emerging Artist; and ‘Blues Song Of The Year’, all from a self release with no PR. Word of mouth began to spread.

‘Textures’ came next in 2015 – to huge critical acclaim. The album featured on many ‘top 10 of the year’ lists that year, with literally dozens of 10/10 reviews.

Mark had stepped up with production, songwriting and performance, so much so that one eager reviewer was led to write “Pontin is the new Jimmy Page”.
